Bethenny Frankel has made it clear she won’t be reuniting with her Real Housewives of New York City castmates for the new spinoff, The Golden Life.
The 55-year-old reality star, who rose to fame on Bravo, opened up in an Instagram video about why returning simply wouldn’t work for her anymore.
“It used to be good when I was promoting my own business,” she explained.
“But now that I work with a lot of other brands and have different types of equity deals and partners, they don’t look highly upon that genre. They kind of like that it’s in the rearview.”
Bethenny believes the other cast would resent her presence, even if the spinoff had the budget to tempt her back.
She admitted that even though some of her former castmates had invited her to return, the huge sum of money she would need to come back.
Bethenny said she’s perfectly happy being on the sidelines, calling the new show a “savage, amazing move” by the network.
Despite stepping back, she wishes her former co-stars nothing but success.
“I’m really happy for these women and I want them to thrive [and] succeed, and I want the show to do well,” she said.
The star has previously hinted she might even retire if she finds the right man.
Speaking to ADWEEK, she joked, “I would definitely retire — like, if I end up with some billionaire on some big boat.”
