Jessie Buckley highly praised her Hamnet co-star Emily Watson during the 2026 Actor Awards.

Buckley, who starred in movie as Agnes, wife of Shakespeare is on a winning streak this award season.

While accepting the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her work in film.

The Bride! star wanted to "take a minute to see all these incredible, inspiring faces and souls in front of me."

Paying tribute to her fellow stars, she said that countless people in the room and beyond have profoundly shaped her, adding that those connections have transformed her in lasting ways.

The Lost Daughter actress further said that being able to approach her work with openness and stand alongside bold, talented friends who show her their hearts, feels like the best way to spend a life.

She then turned her attention to co-star Watson calling her “incredible friend and date tonight."

Buckley said seeing Watson in the 1996 romance thriller Breaking the Waves made her say to herself, "That's what I want to do."

The Irish actress admitted that to work on Hamnet with her is something she will "always cherish."

Lauding her imagination, bravery, gentleness and "untethered womanhood," she called her as a "guiding light to me."

The camera than panned to Watson and she looked visibly emotional from the speech.

She concluded her speech by saying, "I love and cherish being part of this community."

Buckley is now gearing up for the Oscar’s that are set to air on ABC News on March 15.
