Elijah Blue Allman, the son of music veteran Cher and the late rocker Gregg Allman, was arrested on February 27.

Allegedly, this was due to the involvement in a disturbance at the St. Paul School in Concord, New Hampshire.

The police came to the elite prep school after an unwanted guest was reported to have caused a disturbance and to have acted in a belligerent manner.

Authorities indicate that the 49-year-old was not affiliated with the school.

He is now charged with two counts of simple assault, criminal trespassing, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct charges.

He was taken through Merrimack County Jail and released later without a trial, pending subsequent appearances in court.

The arrest followed several months after the hospitalisation of Allman in California claims of acting erratically, when the deputies reportedly found drugs inside his home.

His estranged wife, Marieangela King Allman, came out in support of him following that incident.

She told PEOPLE, “While it is true that Elijah has faced personal challenges in the past, one constant has been his unwavering commitment to sobriety and his loyalty to those he loves.”

She explained further, adding that “Like many, he continues to confront his inner struggles - but it is important to see that he does so from a place of strength, not defeat.”
