Cara Delevingne raised concerns about social media algorithms and how they are impacting mental health.
Ahead of Women’s International Day on March 8, the Suicide Squad actress spoke about the the importance of uplifting women’s voices and causes.
She is also currently focusing on issues related to mental health and marginalized communities.
As a L’Oreal Paris ambassador in conversation with Variety, she said, "We’re laughing and joking around a lot right now by saying, 'Everything’s on fire.'"
She said that conversations have k=taken on a layer of dark humour as many people struggle, stressing that prioritizing mental health is essential so individuals can care for themselves and, in turn, show up for others.
The supermodel went on to talk about how mental health gets effected due to social media.
She said, "Algorithm is not meant for good things," the Paper Towns actress added that while she hasn’t yet deleted her Instagram account from her phone, she is "constantly working on self-control because I find myself going on there without even realizing I am…It’s terrifying."
Delevingne worked hard to maintain her algorithm, revealing that she follows a lot of accounts regarding good things and good news about women.
"That always makes me happy because I feel like when the pendulum is swinging so far the other way — women’s rights are getting taken away we have to try and push it the other way," she said.
Nominations are currently open for L’Oréal Paris’ Women of Worth program for 2026 until March 8.
