Lindsay Lohan opened up about her overwhelming challenges of child stardom she faced earlier in her career.
The Freaky Friday star, began her career in Hollywood when she was just three years old as a model and made her appearance in multiple television commercials.
Lohan later rose to fame in age 11, as she made her film debut in Disney’s The Parent Trap and later in Freaky Friday, which made her a global teen sensation.
Opening up about her decision to leave Los Angeles for Dubai - where she later married businessman Badar Shammas and welcomed their first son, Luai - Lohan told Vogue Arabia, "It was all so overwhelming and consuming."
She regrets not listening to her parents back then, who told her to move back to New York in order to be away from the scrutiny, however, as teenager she wanted to be in LA.
Living through it all, the Mean Girls actress said that "while it was fun, it was hard," and she wondered why no one reached out to protect her from the press intrusion.
Eventually, she stopped having fun and finding roles she loved, which for the Falling for Christmas star, was not the life she dreamt life. Hence Lohan decided to move to the other side of the world and ended up in Dubai.
Previously, in an interview with the Entertainment Weekly, her co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, lauded her decision of moving to the Middle East.
"She was looking to find [a calm] place and quiet. That wasn't going to be in New York or L.A., because they're filled with aggro people. It impressed me so much," said Curtis.
Following her success in Freakier Friday film, which was released last year, Lohan is now busy developing biopic about Ann-Margret and is set to appear in TV series adaptation of novel Count My Lies.
