Martin Lawrence over the moon as baby name revealed

Martin Lawrence is about to become a grandad and the comedy legend couldn’t look prouder.

The 59-year-old funnyman’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, has revealed the adorable name of the baby girl she is expecting with Eric Murphy, son of fellow comedy icon Eddie Murphy.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Jasmin, 30, shared a tender video of herself gently rubbing her blossoming bump as she unveiled the name: “Ari Skye.” 

She then sweetly added: “Mommy loves you so much… my baby...Ari Sky(e) Murphy.”

The couple, who quietly married in May, first announced their pregnancy on February 2 with a romantic black-and-white photograph. 

Jasmin stunned in an off-the-shoulder dress highlighting her bump, while Eric, 36, lovingly rested his head against her stomach. 

Alongside the snap, they wrote: “Thank you Jesus for the greatest gift.”

Eddie later confirmed their secret church wedding during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, revealing the pair chose an intimate ceremony with just the two of them and a preacher.

“They went off and got married at the church,” he shared, joking that at least there was no lavish wedding for the families to fund. 

“We’re in-laws,” he laughed of his bond with Martin.

Eric popped the question back in November 2024 in a candlelit room filled with roses, with the romantic moment set to “Spend My Life With You” by Eric Benét.

Now, as baby Ari Skye prepares to join one of Hollywood’s most iconic comedy families, fans are already saying the little one is destined for stardom.
