Steve Schirripa and Michael Imperioli, cast members of the show, candidly discussed the lengths to which the twists of the show had been guarded.

Almost three decades after the release of The Sopranos, the series remains associated with secrecy, on screen and behind the scenes.

The 68-year-old podcast host claimed that the paranoia surrounding the security breach was not baseless.

He went on to spill the beans on the leakage at the set, stating that someone was selling information and that there were suspects, but nobody was ever arrested.

Moreover, the strain reached its peak in season five, so the producers had to work overtime to protect the destiny of the character Adriana La Cerva, portrayed by Drea de Matteo.

Scenes were shot in various forms to prevent spoilers, towards the last season, the actors were only given pages of their own scripts, a move that had the cast guessing.

Produced by David Chase, the show was about a mob boss named Tony Soprano, whose role was played by the late James Gandolfini, and transformed contemporary TV by its ethics-filled narration.

They even discussed revisiting the franchise at a later stage, however, the concept never had any real momentum.

“I think [Gandolfini] would have gone for it for the right price and the right script, but then he passed away – and without Jim it didn’t make sense,” Schirripa confessed.

Considering that a show is based on betrayal, it appeared that the drama went well beyond the script.
