Matthew Lillard is not reminiscing in fashion, especially the bold, questioning trends of the '90s.
The 56-year-old actor claimed that he would never wish to see any single trend from that decade resurrected again.
While recounting his early days in Hollywood and at the red carpet Lillard makes it clear that personal style has never been his top priority.
“I have to tell you, I think I'm still stuck in 2000. I'm wearing a denim shirt,” he says, adding, “When you say fashion trend, my mind immediately leaves. It's not my forte.”
Although he disregarded the old-fashioned clothes and made fun of them, Lillard, with a warm smile recalled the movies which eventually influenced his early career.
He still regards The Princess Bride as a classic movie that could be comfortably rewatched at any time.
He went on to explain, “I just think it's funny. It's grounded, it's emotional, and I just think that's just the best kind of filmmaking,”
After 30 years of his horror film debut, the Scream series that scared audiences around the world, Lillard is marking a major comeback with the seventh instalment of this franchise.
In a retrospective surprise success of the film, he confessed that he never thought the movie would become a cultural mainstay.
“Little did I know in any capacity that A. it would change my life, and B. here we would be 30 years later still celebrating Ghostface in any way, shape or form.”
It is pertinent to mention that Scream 7 is set to release on February 27.
