McKenna Grace is set to bring life to iconic 60s character Dephne Blake in Scooby-Doo live action series.

No other actors have been cast in the remaining roles yet.

As per Variety, the streaming platform Netflix pitched the show for eight episodes in March 2025.

The official logline of the show describes it as modern reimagining of the popular cartoon show.

The series will delve into how the Mystery Inc. gang first met each other.

Its brief synopsis states, "During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder."

They team up with analytical and razor-sharp thinker, Velma and a strange but handsome new kid, Freddy.

Grace is not new the role, as the Young Sheldon star has voiced the young version of the character in the animated film Scoob! in 2020.

Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg serve as writers and showrunners and will also executive produce along with André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner.

It is to remember that this won’t be the first live-action of the franchise.

Previously, Scooby-Doo live-version was released in 2002 starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, and Linda Cardellini, with Neil Fanning voicing Scooby.

A sequel was also released in 2004, named Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed.

There was also the live-action TV film Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins and its sequel that were released in 2009 and 2010.

The release date of the TV series is yet to be announced.
