Robert Pattinson recollected one therapy session that only confused him instead of helping.

The 39-year-old actor confessed that he once met therapist and was asked if he was taking drugs since the therapist did not understand him.

During a conversation for Interview Magazine, alongside his co-star Zendaya, he reflected on the embarrassing event of being asked about substance abuse.

He went on to state what he was going through, "I thought I was going somewhere. I got on the boat and I was like... 'I want to get off now.'"

The actor also revealed the issue regarding his identity he had to deal with after catapulting to fame as he portrayed Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga.

Although the franchise gave him and company a worldwide presence, it was something that diluted the line between the character and the self.

Pattinson was also aware that he did not want to be devoured by the phenomenon, stating that he attempted to maintain his singleness in the cultural madness.

"I didn't want to get my personal identity caught up in that, so I tried to push forward my individuality a little, and that kind of stuck with me.”

He observed that initially, a great number of fans could hardly dissociate him with the gloomy vampire that he played.

However, with time Pattinson got to understand how to utilize public perception as a source of creativity instead of a constraint.

The Drama by A24 is scheduled to be released on April 3.
