Rupert Grint has candidly addressed the emotional issues regarding early parenthood.
The 37-year-old star of Harry Potter acknowledged he felt great fears after his daughter was born with his partner, Georgia Groome.
Moreover, while conversing with The Hollywood Reporter, he called the period isolating and traumatising.
He went on to state, "The fear of the dangers and the baby getting hurt - something being not quite normal. I definitely had it with Wednesday."
Grint, who fathered a second daughter, Goldie, in 2025, claimed that his experience reflected the elements of his latest movie, Nightborn.
The 2026 fantasy horror film featured his role as a man struggling with loneliness having moved to Finland.
He marked referring to the character, "He is obviously working all the time, so he can’t be home and he’s slowly watching his wife drift away ..."
Continuing, "In his head, he’s doing all the right things. But from his wife’s perspective, he’s just making it so much worse and further isolating her. It’s quite bleak."
Notably, Grint earlier confided in a People interview that he turned out to be a kind of "hypochondriac."
He added, "Having a baby, you're worried about her at all times. Everything seems dangerous."
He also confessed the first night home to Esquire, it was terrifying that he could not sleep at all, always on the lookout as to whether she is breathing or not.
Nightborn had its Berlinale world premiere on February 14.
