As new details emerged in the case of Nancy Guthrie, authorities have warned it could take "years" to find her.
The 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie has been missing since February 1.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) have insisted they "won't quit" their search.
However, they know that finding her may take some time to explore what actually happened to the senior citizen.
As per Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, “Maybe it’s an hour from now. Maybe it’s weeks or months or years from now."
The New York Times further reported, "But we won’t quit. We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy.”
The investigators have retrieved DNA from the residence of Guthrie having no correspondence with Guthrie or anybody close to her.
According to the PCSD's released statement, the organisation didn’t disclose the location of that DNA in any way.
Moreover, the FBI raised its reward to 100,000 dollars for giving any information that could potentially lead to the whereabouts of Guthrie."
Otherwise continuing, "or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance."
In a statement on X, FBI Phoenix marked, "New identifying details about the suspect in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie have been confirmed after a forensic analysis of the doorbell camera footage by the FBI’s Operational Technology Division.”
"The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5’9” - 5’10” tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack,” they detailed.
