Michelle Yeoh reflected on Wicked: For Good receiving zero Oscar nominations.
Previously, the film's original part, Wicked, went on to earn 10 nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress for Cynthia Erivo and Best Supporting Actress for Ariana Grande.
However, this year the franchise got ignored with Everything Everywhere All at Once star questioning the reason behind it.
In an interview with Variety, the actress who played Madam Morrible in the films, expressed her disbelief saying, "I'm not surprised — I am in shock! I really am."
Explaining why For Good did not made it to the Oscars, the Crazy Rich Asian star said that when it comes to sequels, people often think if the first one received enough recognition, there is no for the second one to get the same treatment.
The Malaysian actress shared that people prefer to give new films a chance "But then it feels like, 'No, come on!' It’s such a beautiful, well-made movie."
Yeoh noted, "It’s not the replica of the first one. It’s more elaborate and there are many more new destinations in Wicked: For Good."
She added, “So I was truly, truly very disappointed.”
Previously, the film took home two awards for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.
Conan O'Brien is set to host the 2026 Oscars live on March 15, on ABC and Hulu.
Meanwhile, Wicked: For Good will be released on Peacock to stream on March 20.
