Rock legend Neil Young has pulled the plug on his entire UK and European tour.

The 80-year-old music icon has left fans shocked and disappointed, pulling the plug on the tour just weeks before the shows were due to begin.

Notably, he was set to kick off the run at Cornwall’s Eden Sessions on June 17, with major dates lined up across the UK, including Manchester, Chelmsford, Glasgow, Oxford and Cardiff, before heading across Europe for a string of summer gigs.

His final performance had been scheduled for Udine, Italy, on July 26.

But in a heartfelt message shared on his Neil Young Archives website, the Heart of Gold singer revealed he has decided to step back, admitting simply: “This is not the time.”

He wrote: “I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets.

I’m sorry to let you down. I do love playing live and being with you and the Chrome Hearts.”

Event organisers quickly confirmed the cancellations, with Eden Sessions telling fans they would receive full refunds, calling the decision “regrettable”.

The announcement comes just months after Neil reflected on turning 80, admitting he once feared the milestone but now feels at peace with it.

Speaking to fans earlier this year, he said ageing has helped him realise that “lots of things don’t matter anymore”.

While he’s focused on staying healthy through long walks rather than gym sessions, it seems touring has taken a back seat for now.
