Ian McKellen, who is set to reprise his role as Megneto from original X-Men trilogy in Avengers: Doomsday hinted at what to expect from the character.

The Lord of the Rings alum spilled beans about his experience of walking again in shoes of Magneto/Erik Lehnsherr in the upcoming Marvel film.

In an appearance at The Late Show, The Good Liar star admitted that he never understood the stories of the movies, but enjoyed them thoroughly.

He went on reveal a major detail from the film, stating, "I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying that Magneto destroys New Jersey."

The 86-year-old artist then raised his hands in the air and quipped, "I'm sorry about that, New Jersey! My fault."

Opening up about a cheeky behind-the-scene moment McKellen stood up from his seat and performed actions and gestures with his hand showing his superpower movements.

He said he was doing this as the wind was blowing in his hair and trying to up a fierce look. However, the director wasn’t happy and directed McKellen to look "furious."

The Da Vinci Code actor shared that he tried snarling but it wasn't, with director emphasising on "'Shout something!'"

Confused what to shout, McKellen yelled, "'Mar-a-lago!'", the private residence of President Trump.

The Tony Award winner returned to his seat laughing and sarcastically asking the host, whether he will be allowed back in America or not, given the joke amid political tensions.

Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release on December 18.
