Rebecca Ferguson has revealed that saying yes to Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man was an easy decision.
The 42-year-old actress was personally approached by Peaky Blinders frontman Cillian Murphy, to join the upcoming Netflix film continuation of the hit BBC series.
Rebecca admits she jumped at the chance when she was asked to play the enigmatic medium Kaulo.
“It was a no-brainer,” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK.
“The characters are all guttural and burdened. That’s what I want.”
Dune star chose to develop a Romani accent for the role, rather than attempting to match the famous Birmingham accents of her co-stars.
She insisted that it was the only sensible option.
“There was absolutely no chance I could do a Brummie accent,” she laughed.
“I would ruin the film.”
Doctor Sleep actress admits she’s far from done, despite her global success.
With a packed 2026 slate that includes Dune 3, Amazon’s sci-fi thriller Mercy, The Magic Faraway Tree, and a new season of Apple TV+’s Silo, the star says she’s still chasing career highs.
She also admitted feeling the pressure of joining such a beloved franchise, telling Empire she tries not to dwell on its massive fanbase.
Rebecca added she was deeply aware of the show’s legacy, subtly paying tribute to the late Helen McCrory, who played the iconic Polly Gray.
