Patrick Mahomes Sr., the 55-year-old father of NFL star Patrick Mahomes II, was booked into the Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, on Tuesday after being accused of violating the terms of his probation tied to a previous DWI conviction.

According to court and law enforcement officials, the probation condition in question stemmed from Mahomes Sr.’s August 2024 guilty plea for a third driving while intoxicated offense, when he was found with a blood-alcohol level of 0.23, nearly three times the legal limit, just days before his son’s Super Bowl appearance.

The five-year probation sentence included stringent monitoring, and prosecutors allege a high alcohol reading from his ankle monitor on January 1 triggered the latest legal action.

While Mahomes Sr. later provided urine samples on January 5 and 9 that reportedly tested negative for alcohol, officials still filed a motion related to the alleged violation.

According to Page Six, he has the right to challenge the claim in court, and no hearing date has yet been set.

Moreover, this latest arrest adds to a history of alcohol-related legal issues for Mahomes Sr., who has been arrested multiple times on DUI charges over the past decade.

His son, the three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, previously addressed the impact of the 2024 arrest on their family, calling it a private matter and acknowledging its emotional toll.
