Josh D’Amaro was announced as the new Chief Executive Officer of Disney and will be starting on March 18, 2026.
As the 55-year-old will be succeeding Bob Iger, he shared a gratitude post on Instagram and made remarks about the studio in the update.
Sharing picture of himself posing with other executives, the businessman penned down a heartfelt note, highlighting the people of Disney as the “most important part” of the studio.
Josh recalled having an amazing experience “working with tens of thousands of Cast, Imagineers and employees over the years.”
He admitted feeling honoured “for the opportunity to lead this extraordinary company” before congratulating Dana Walden for becoming the “company’s first-ever President and [CCF].”
This came after he was unanimously voted by the company’s board for this position, which he will assume in few months at the annual meeting.
Moreover, Josh will be reportedly appointed as the director as well after a “thorough” process helped the decision makers to name him the CEO.
On the other hand, Dana will be the Chief Creative Officer of the enterprise and will be entrusted to look after the “creative and audience operations across the business.”
Although the real reason for this change is yet to reveal, it was reported that Disney suffered a massive loss, totalling $1.5 billion which led to the removal of Bob Chapek.
