Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner are rumoured to star in 1981 cult classic Possession.

Following the intense bidding war between A24, Netflix, Warner Bros, Sony, and Paramount in July 2024 over the project, the latter ultimately emerged victorious.

The original film follows the relationship between an international spy (played by Sam Neill) and his wife (played by Isabelle Adjani), who admits to having an affair and begins to show bizarre behaviours as their marriage crumbles around them.

According to the World of Reel, sources have confirmed that Qualley and Turner are likely to play the couple.

The original psychological horror was directed by Polish filmmaker Andrzej Zulawski. Meanwhile, Parker Finn is set to helm the reboot.

Jack Antonoff's wife has recently starred in Honey Don’t! and Drive Away Doll. In addition to Possession, her upcoming projects include How to Make a Killing with Glen Powell and The Dog Stars with Jacob Elordi.

Turner on the other hand starred in Eternity alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller. He is set to star in upcoming Apple TV adaptation of Neuromancer and One Night Only.

No new update about filming progress in Possession has been revealed.
