Alex Warren, who took to the stage at the Grammys, faced a major technical issue but has now laughed off the situation.
The 25-year-old singer, nominated for Best New Artist, took to the stage at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena to perform his viral hit Ordinary.
However, eagle-eyed viewers soon realised something was seriously off during his performance.
As the cameras rolled, Warren appeared to struggle with his in-ear monitors, with fans complaining online that the sound seemed delayed and out of sync.
After the ceremony, Before You Leave Me singer addressed the mishap head-on.
Posting a clip on Instagram, Warren shared the distorted audio he said was blasting through his earpiece during the live performance.
Captioning the post, he joked: “When you’re performing at the Grammys and all you hear is this in your ears,” before adding: “This would only happen to me…”
Despite the hiccup, he was in good spirits on the red carpet, where he admitted his overnight success has been a shock.
The Bloodline hitmaker quipped to People magazine: “I had to delete all of my DMs the minute this all happened.
There were like 400 of them. There’s probably a restraining order. I don’t know.”
Warren has also confessed he’s still finding his feet in the music world.
He recently revealed he’s been actively trying to broaden his music taste, admitting he’s now listening to full albums for the first time.
