Leon Thomas has given his longtime friend and former co-star Ariana Grande a sweet nod following his wins at the Grammys.
The singer appeared alongside the Hampstead singer on the Disney show Victorious, playing Andre Harris and Cat Valentine, respectively.
Due to their blossomed friendship after this, the Favorite singer complimented the Wicked actress’s musical genius in an interview soon after receiving his award.
In a conversation with People after sweeping the Best R&B Album category for his album Mutt on the red carpet, he talked about the experience of writing music, commenting also on co-writing with others.
Leon then stated that one of his "favorite writing experiences” was with Ariana, and that “She is such a beautiful voice, and to see how she can flip a song around and really make it her own was beautiful.”
The 32-year-old went on to call the Dangerous Woman singer a great co-writer as well, adding that him and his age fellow are also really good friends.
Leon then recalled their time on Victorious and how it allowed the duo to "test out what it felt like to be an artist."
"Here I am, following in her footsteps," he added, referring to their similar career trajectories of going from Disney to winning Grammys.
Notably, Ariana also won a gramophone this year for with Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo in the Best Pop Vocal Duo for their duet Defying Gravity.
