Julia Garner is lining up another major Hollywood power move.

The 31-year-old Ozark star as officially been cast in the upcoming thriller Tyrant, where she’ll go head-to-head with none other than Charlize Theron.

According to Deadline, the high-stakes film is being developed for Amazon MGM Studios and will be directed by David Weil, the mind behind Amazon Prime’s Hunters.

Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, but insiders say Tyrant will have a Whiplash-style intensity, swapping jazz drumming for the cut-throat world of New York City’s elite culinary scene.

Expect ego clashes, psychological warfare and plenty of simmering tension.

With Garner and Theron now locked in as leads, filming is expected to kick off later this year.

The 50-year-old actress will also pull double duty as a producer through her company Secret Menu, alongside partners Beth Kono and A.J. Dix.

Garner is coming off a huge run, having appeared in Wolf Man, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Weapons in 2025.

She’s also still attached to the long-talked-about Madonna biopic, which she insists is “supposed to still happen”.

Speaking recently, she admitted the role pushed her far out of her comfort zone.

“I wasn’t a trained dancer,” she revealed, recalling having to sing and dance in front of Madonna herself. “I just owned it.”
