Mariah Carey makes shiny appearance at 'MusiCares Person of the Year' gala

Mariah Carey was honored Friday night as the 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year, marking a glamorous start to Grammy Week with a highly anticipated benefit gala at the Los Angeles Convention Center. 

The annual event, organized by the nonprofit arm of the Recording Academy, celebrates artists’ musical achievements and charitable contributions while raising funds for health and wellness programs in the music community.

Carey, arrived on the red carpet in a bold, fully sheer floral gown featuring a corseted bodice and dramatic long train, paired with statement diamond jewelry that included a collar necklace, layered bracelets and drop earrings. 

According to Daily Mail, the choice of attire instantly became a talking point among attendees and critics alike, underscoring her status as both a music and fashion icon.

Moreover, the five-time Grammy winner was celebrated not only for her chart-topping hits but also for years of philanthropic work, including support for disaster relief, education and initiatives benefiting the broader music community.
