Jennifer Hudson took the stage at the 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala to honour Mariah Carey.

The 44-year-old singer put up a show with My All and other songs, attempting to hit high notes as Mariah reacted mid-performance.

While the If This Isn’t Love crooner sang, the camera panned to reveal the Grammy winner’s facial expressions which fans believe is mostly of disapproval.

After the clip from the event began to make the rounds, the online community shared their opinions with one X user noting: “Just LOUD for no reason.”

Another netizen shared about "wrong" song choice, “they are ruining everything,” while a third fan pointed out that the track is “extremely difficult” and “those high notes challenged [Jennifer].”

Other musicians also sang for the All I Want For Christmas Is You singer, including John Legend, Kesha, and Teddy Swims.

Mariah was honoured at the event for her philanthropic role “two days before the Grammy Awards” of 2026.
