Jason Biggs is opening up about his sobriety journey and the immense impact his wife had on him which pushed him towards the positive shift.
The American Pie actor has been candid about being sober since 2017 and has continued being so for eight years now, an accomplishment that he was recently congratulated for.
In an appearance on the The View on Friday, January 30th, the 47-year-old showed up to promote his directorial debut film Untitled Home Invasion Romance and was congratulated by host Sunny Hostin.
"It’s something I am really proud of, and it’s certainly been difficult, I think for me, I just couldn’t stop thinking about it,” Jason stated.
The actor went on to add that he felt lucky that his rock bottom wasn’t too bad, in the way that he didn’t get arrested or hurt anyone or cause much damage in a public way but that he was obsessed with it.
"The snakes in my head, they just never went away and they kept getting worse and worse and worse and it becomes all consuming and I couldn’t be present and I couldn’t be focused. It was a clear issue, and then when Jenny got pregnant, that was sort of a wake-up call for me,” he added.
Jason, who shares two sons with Jenny, went on to reveal that he has mixed feelings about the saying that one should get sober for themselves.
Notably, the Wedding Daze actor went on share that maintaining sobriety has to be for oneself, and that his advice to those looking to go substance free is to ask for help.
