Louis Tomlinson has come forward to voice his opinion on the "unethical" behavior of The X Factor towards its contestant.

The crooner follows the footsteps of other alumni including Jesy Nelson, Cher Lloyd, Jedward, Katie Waissel, who earlier raised concern to the matter.

The 34-year-old singer and songwriter has always credited the show for his career start as he competed in 2010.

At the time judges suggested putting Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles together in a band, One Direction.

During an interview with The Sun he candidly stated, "It’s the power of those shows – The X Factor and stuff – they are unethical at times."

Continuing, "I’m sure if we reflect on those shows, we could do better by the contestants."

"But it is also one of these things that give a lot of opportunity. Like I would never have been a singer if it wasn’t for that show. It is as simple as that." he admitted.

Moreover, on January 23, he made appearance on Zach Sang Show to promote his upcoming album, How did I Get Here?.

Tomlinson punched that his second song pick for the competition Hey There Delilah gave him PTSD due to the pressure.

His third studio album, symbolizes a new role in his career, informed by a personal loss and a need to continue moving onward yet respecting the past.

When mentioning his ex-band partner deceased Liam Payne, he highlighted that grief is a phenomenon that overshadows regular feelings, and he had to handle them and keep them too heavy to be expressed in music initially.
