Jay Shetty is opening up about the realities of marriage after launching a new podcast that dives deep into relationship challenges, and the experience has taught him that nurturing a long-term partnership is ongoing work.
Shetty premiered Messy Love: Difficult Conversations for Deeper Connection on Audible on January 22.
Unlike his flagship podcast On Purpose, which often features interviews with celebrities and experts, Messy Love places the former monk alongside real couples confronting issues such as communication, trust and intimacy.
Through those conversations, Shetty says he’s been reminded that even long-term relationships require daily attention, a lesson he applies to his own marriage to Radhi Devlukia-Shetty, whom he wed in 2016.
“The work is never done,” he says, noting that partners can continue to surprise each other with new layers of vulnerability and understanding.
According to People, Shetty emphasizes that building connection isn’t automatic, but needs consistent effort.
He told the outlet that communication should be approached not as a way to win arguments, but as a collaborative tool to deepen intimacy.
According to him, skipping meaningful conversations can erode connection much like neglecting basic needs such as food or sleep.
By guiding couples through authentic challenges, Messy Love seeks to transform difficult discussions into opportunities for insight and growth, a mission Shetty believes holds value for couples at any stage of a relationship.
