Jessie Buckley showered praises on Hamnet co-star Paul Mescal, after he did not got nominated in 2026 Oscars.
The Bride! star, who captivated the world with her heart wrenching performance as Agnes, Shakespeare's wife in the film, got nominated as Actress In A Leading Role.
However shockingly, despite all the buzz, Mescal failed to receive one.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Buckley said that while he may not has received any nomination, to her "his artistry is something that will continue to grow and be a theme in so many different ways."
She added, emphasising on Mescal's importance in the film, saying, "There is no part of what I created or what we created in this story exist without Paul."
"So what is recognised belongs to him as much as him being recognised in his own category would," she said.
Elsewhere, the Irish actress on her own Academy nod said that she was honoured and deeply humbled to be recognised for such accolade.
In addition to her, Emma Stone (Bugonia), Rose Bryne (If I Had Legs I'd Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue) and Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), are also included in the Best Actress category.
Oscars will be held on March 15.
