Netflix co-CEOs, Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos, are navigating the terms of their purchase of Warner Bros after winning the bidding war against Paramount.
However, things seem to remain unsettled as Greg sat down with Ben Thompson for an extensive interview.
Discussing some of the plans swirling around, the co-CEO was asked if the streaming platform is looking forward to merge it with HBO Max.
The businessman expressed uncertainty about the move as it is one of the things they “would want to sort out” and have “got some thinking [to do].”
Greg admitted that their strategy of doing so will result in “benefits” and can make it a “win-win.” The platform will ensure to make “a better product for consumers, lower price.”
While the CEO believes that it is a possibility, Netlflix did not combine streamers before with an example of their pact with AMC.
Under their AMC Collection, their shows and studios are made available for streaming on the platform, helping them to generate new revenue stream and bring them to global recognition.
These include Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Orphan Black and The Walking Dead series.
However, the heads are possibly retaining the original HBO team and are confident in their team, highlighting: “HBO team is good at working.”
In the interview, he pointed out that the huge change will help the hardworking workers an appropriate environment “to tell those amazing stories.”
