Jameela Jamil has responded to her remarks of calling Blake Lively a “villain” and a “suicide bomber” in old texts with Justin’s publicist Jennifer Abel amid her legal case with Justin Baldoni.
The unsealed conversation of the 39-year-old who has been an activist of body positivity, mental health, and radical inclusivity appeared in court documents.
The unsealed court documents indicated the Good Place alum star is siding with Justin Baldoni.
Jameela texted about Lively, saying, “She’s a suicide bomber at this point. I’ve never seen such a bizarre villain act before.”
After these texts came to light, took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday and defended herself.
Jameela went on to say that being a feminist “means fighting for the political, social, and economic equity for women. Just gender equity.”
Elio star stated her views on feminism as it “does not mean you have to like every single woman” or “be friends with every single woman and, shocker, you can actually beef with other women and criticise them”.
Furthermore, Jameela noted that women “can do whatever” they want, as long as they “are also fighting for their human right to the same things that men have in this world”.
“That’s all feminism is. It’s a moral and political stance,” she explained, adding, “If you are fighting for women’s rights, but you don’t get along with every single woman, it doesn’t make you a bad feminist.”
For the unversed, Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 for sexual harassment and igniting a smear campaign against her, which he denied.
In response, in January 2025, Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, filed a $400 million lawsuit in January 2025 against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Following disputes in June 2025, the judge dismissed Baldoni’s claims of defamation, extortion, and a smear campaign.
The final trial is set to be held in May, 2026.
