Valentino Garavani passed away in his early nineties on January 19.

For the unversed, the founder of Valentino S.p.A. peacefully died at his home in Rome, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 93.

The veteran artistic flair was well known for his rich take on women’s fashion and had numerous elite fans like Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow and many more.

His body burial took place in the Basilica Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri in Rome on Friday.

The last destination to the star held in the Italian capital was attended by high-profile figures.

The names included of designers Tom Ford and Donatella Versace, and Vogue magazine powerhouse Anna Wintour.

Hollywood star Anne Hathaway is also expected to attend the funeral service.

It is to mention that the Italian fashion designer maintained his name at the top of fashion game and spanned a career of more than four decades before resigning his position as creative director in 2007.

The final nod was marked with a couture collection, where every model was in red.

In addition, Royals like Diana, Princess of Wales, were close friends who styled his designs during her independent years amid her divorce.

In 1992, Diana wore a burgundy velvet lace dress by Valentino to attend Call Macatney's concert in Lille, France.

Valentino was a pop culture icon as he appeared in The Devil Wears Prada and was the focus of the 2008 documentary Valentino: The Last Emperor.

Other models included Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, film stars such as Julia Roberts, Laura Linney and Penélope Cruz who wore his designs.
