Nigella Lawson is all set to replace veteran star Prue Leith on The Great British Bake Off, as disclosed by the sources.
The 85-year-old host played her role on the show for nine years and departed on January 21, 2026.
Leith stated for the future of the show, "Whoever joins the team, I'm sure they'll love it as much as I have. I feel very lucky to have been part of it".
The Sun reported that the food writer is undergoing the final phase of contract finalisations and would soon be a part of the baking tent.
One of her sources was lavish in praise of her style, stating, “Nigella’s recognised worldwide."
The 66-year-old has mastered a "cheeky banter down to a tee, with all her work laden with the fun innuendos and naughty patter that are synonymous with Bake Off.”
The fourth judge, Lawson will also join Paul Hollywood, who has been in the series since it was launched in 2010.
Lawson is a renowned chef with her own culinary shows, including Nigella: At My Table and The Taste. She was recently featured in a BBC one-off, Nigella's Amsterdam Christmas.
The appointment would mean a new dawn to the popular baking series since this would be laced with the traditional warmth and wit that the series is reputed to have.
