BLACKPINK, which consists of JENNIE, Lisa, Rose and Jisoo, left their fans disappointed as they made a shocking announcement despite touring.
After going on their solo paths, the singers reunited to go on a world tour DEADLINE, which reportedly broke records with their ticket sales.
However, the four artists are now gearing up for the release for their upcoming album after a hiatus of three years.
Instead of a full, studio record, the band decided to work on a mini-version of five songs, with JUMP as the lead single.
The online community expressed their disappointment on the announcement with one X user slamming the group for “sabotaging them… the potential is right there and they’re wasting it.”
Another fan was of the opinion that the four singers “took 3 years off just to come back with 5 songs… Keep the f**king album.”
While a critic noted that they “can join the Khia asylum,” an admirer admitted the girls are going for“quality over quantity.”
It is to be noted that the pop icons are also balancing their separate paths as Jisoo stars in romantic series Boyfriend on Demand after collaborating with Zayn Malik.
Out of four, Jennie started out solo in 2018 first with her track Solo which earned rave review before other songs You & Me and debut studio record Ruby.
