Tom Hiddleston opened up about how a DC supervillain inspired his Marvel career.
The Life of Chuck star, who starred as Loki in Marvel Cinematic Universe across multiple films and TV series, explained how Tim Burton's Batman paved the way for him.
In a recent podcast episode of Happy Sad Confused, The Night Manager actor said, "Truthfully, I don’t think I would’ve played Loki without that film."
He added, "I think the way Jack Nicholson played the Joker was so … at the time in my life when I saw it, it made such an impact on my imagination."
The Golden Globe Winning star, added that while he knew the character was a villain, he was clearly enjoying himself, which made him feel familiar, and his charm, and freedom stood out.
He went on to credit Nicholson for being a huge inspiration behind his take on Loki when first stepping into the role.
Hiddleston said, "I think, probably when I came to play Loki for the first time, I consciously carried Jack Nicholson in mind."
