House of Dragons, much anticipated season three is set to premiere soon, but some significant internal tensions has left fans concerned about series future.
The series was already in hot water, after season two end which left the viewers dissatisfied.
The recent tensions between the author George R.R. Martin and showrunner Ryan Condal has left the viewers in doubt of upcoming season’s success.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Song of Ice and Fire author revealed that his relationship with the House of the Dragon is "worse than rocky. It’s abysmal."
The duo worked together in the Game of Thrones prequel, but during season 2, racks in their relationship began to surface.
Previously, in a post on his Not A Blog, blog, Martin wrote, "I do not look forward to other posts I need to write, about everything that’s gone wrong with HOUSE OF THE DRAGON."
Tensions peaked during a Zoom call when Condol presented his vision of upcoming instalment and Martin voiced numerous objections to proposed changes.
He believed that these changes may impact storyline of season three, however, he noted that co-showrunner "basically stopped listening" to his input during production of part 2.
In a pointed remark during a meeting for new chapter, Martin declared, "This is not my story any longer."
The release date for House of the Dragon season 3 is expected to premiere somewhere in summer 2026.
