Jesse Wood has publicly outlined the extent of his financial difficulties as he appeared in a UK court this week, revealing that life after his split from Fearne Cotton has left him without steady employment and reliant on modest savings.
The 49-year-old musician, who is the son of legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, faced Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court in London on Thursday over a traffic offence.
In the proceedings, his fourth speeding case in recent years, Wood disclosed that he has been struggling to find paid work since his separation from Cotton, which was announced in late 2024 after a decade of marriage.
Representing himself, Wood told the court he is currently living on roughly £1,000 per month and drawing from savings, having earned just around £14,000 in the previous year according to his tax returns.
According to Daily Mail, his explanation underscored his ongoing search for employment and financial stability.
Despite his personal hardship, Wood received a six-month driving ban and additional penalty points for the latest speeding offence. He also accepted a reduced fine, surcharge and court costs following his guilty plea.
Wood and Cotton share two children together.
Since their split, the former BBC Radio 2 host has reportedly moved on personally while Wood has been publicly linked with a new partner.
