Kathleen Kennedy recently revealed what made her resign from the Star Wars franchise after 14 years of association with the company.

The American producer stepped down from the position of her role as president of SW movie producer Lucasfilm this week.

The former president switched her role to return to her passion to be a full-time producer and took the place of producer Walt Disney.

Kathleen claimed to feel honored to work with Lucasfilm since Disney bought it in 2012.

Notably, she executed three blockbuster sequels to the original Star Wars trilogy and the successful space opera film, Rogue One.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the veteran stated, “It has been a true privilege to spend more than a decade working alongside the extraordinary talent at Lucasfilm.”

She said, “Their creativity and dedication have been an inspiration, and I’m deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”

“I’m excited to continue developing films and television with both longtime collaborators and fresh voices who represent the future of storytelling,” Kathleen added.

It is to mention that now the position will be served by Dave Filoni, as a president and chief creative officer of Lucasfilm.

Kathleen is all set for the upcoming studio feature films The Mandalorian and Grogu and Star Wars: Starfighter.
