The MOBO (Music of Black Origin) has revealed the complete list of nominees for its yearly award.
Notably, this time, the ceremony is being held in the city to mark the organization’s 30th anniversary.
On Thursday, January 15, the official announced nominations featuring all black artists and musical icons, including emerging talent in the field of music, film and media.
Central Cee, Skepta and Jim Legxacy are the top performers in the Best Male Act, whereas Little Simz, Olivia Dean and PinkPantheress are leading the pack in the competitive Best Female Act.
In the Album of the Year category, there are such strong competitors as Little Simz Lotus, Olivia Dean The Art of Loving, Central Cee Can’t Rush Greatness and Ezra Collective Dance, No One’s Watching.
Great collaborations and chart hits by Raye, PinkPantheress, Olivia Dean, AJ Tracey, Jorja Smith, and Jim Legxacy with Dave are featured in Song of the Year.
Emerging acts Jim Legxacy and KWN appear in the top ten in Best Newcomer, performance and video categories.
It is to mention that Cardi B, Ayra Starr, Tyla, Wizkid and Vybz Kartel are the international names in the list.
The nominations also reflect the culture of TV and film, nominating Cynthia Erivo, Damson Idris, Stephen Graham and Wunmi Mosaku.
Notably, the event is scheduled to take place on March 26 at Manchester’s Co-op Live.
