Ashley Tisdale was put on the defensive on her appearance on national television, The View.

The hosts of the show commented on the backlash of the essay about 40-year-old quitting what she called a "toxic" mom group.

In the recent episode of the weekend, an all-female panel discussed the former Disney star's op-ed in The Cut.

Joy Behar asked questions about the publicity of the decision made by Tisdale and asked, “Would you declare that you were quitting in such a way? Or just stop talking?”

Sara Haines responded to the question by admitting that the High School Musical actress’ public revelation was “the most high school part of this.”

She said, “Like, I would never write to a crowd of people and tell them, like, Shame on all of you. You just drop out, you just go.”

In a more balanced opinion, Alyssa Farah Griffin claimed that the culture of toxic mamma is a reality.

However, Ana Navarro resisted the need for an essay of the public, enquiring, “Why can you not simply walk away, and get it out of your mind and out of your life?

Later, comedian Behar called the discussion derogatory to women in an interview, which included, “It all is very anti-female, discussing such terminology as toxic moms and mean girls.

The essay by Tisdale, titled, Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group, created speculation on the internet even though the group was anonymous, with Matthew Koma and Meghan Trainor responding to it.

Her representative subsequently shut down rumours stating that there is no truth at all to what the internet detectives believe they have solved.
