Zach Bryan has set off fresh reactions with the release of his sixth studio album, With Heaven on Top, as several tracks appear to dissect his recent personal life, including a high-profile breakup and his whirlwind romance that led to marriage.

Released on January 9, the 25-track collection delves into themes of heartbreak, self-reflection and love, with fans and critics noting pointed lyrics that seemingly reference Bryan’s former relationship with social-media personality Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.

On songs such as Skin and Plastic Cigarettes, Bryan uses vivid imagery and direct language that many interpret as addressing emotional fallout from the couple’s widely reported 2023–2024 romance and subsequent split.

According to Page Six, LaPaglia had previously accused Bryan of emotional abuse and alleged he offered her significant financial incentives to keep quiet after their breakup, though Bryan has not publicly addressed those claims in detail.

In contrast to the pointed references, multiple tracks, including Runny Eggs and Slicked Back, paint a markedly warmer picture of Bryan’s new marriage to artist Samantha Leonard, whom he wed in Spain on New Year’s Eve 2025.

Moreover, these songs highlight his admiration for Leonard and the optimism he feels about this new chapter in his life.

The album not only reflects Bryan’s romantic history but also touches on his journey toward sobriety and personal growth, offering fans an intimate look at the man behind the chart-topping hits.

A world tour supporting With Heaven on Top is set to begin this spring, bringing these emotionally charged songs to live audiences.
