Ashley Tisdale finds herself at the center of a growing social media controversy after a public post by her husband, singer-songwriter Christopher French, appeared to fan the flames of a dispute linked to her recent comments about leaving a “toxic mom group.”

The drama stems from a personal essay Tisdale published in The Cut, in which she described how a circle of fellow mothers no longer felt supportive and inclusive, prompting her decision to step away for her own emotional well-being.

Although Tisdale chose not to name any individuals in the essay, online speculation quickly spread that the group may have included high-profile celebrity moms, with particular attention on stars such as Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor, based on past social media associations.

According to Page Six, on Tuesday, French took to his Instagram Stories with a brief, cryptic message stating, “It’s your choice whether or not to engage,” which many observers interpreted as a subtle commentary on the ongoing online debate.

Shortly afterward, Matthew Koma, husband of Duff, responded with a satirical mock magazine cover seemingly aimed at Tisdale, suggesting she was “self-obsessed” and “tone-deaf.”

As per the outlet, the responses from other members of the group or their representatives have been limited, although Koma’s post added fuel to fan-driven speculation and online discussions.

Meanwhile, Tisdale’s representative has maintained that her essay was meant to highlight general experiences of exclusion and emotional fatigue many mothers face, not to target specific individuals.
