Former SNL star Chris Redd got candid about his vulnerable side during five-season run on NBC’s hit sketch comedy show.
The 40-year-old on the verge of tears revealed that he sold drugs to his fellow castmates.
On Tuesday, the comedian took to his Instagram and posted a raw, confessional video sharing his side of story to clear up as of New Year.
The star admitted that he was dealing with “pill problems and issues,”
He claimed, “I was even selling some to the people, to some of my castmates. I’m not gonna snitch on y’all motherf–kers man.”
He said his issues were co-factored by what he described as a lack of support from co-stars, claiming he overheard other cast members talking “sh-t” about him instead of helping.
“They wouldn’t help me,” stated. He went on to explain the reason behind the phase was panic attacks and consistent anxiety.
Further, he shared his thoughts while he was drowning in the dark pit as, why wouldn’t his co stars concerned about him or nothing.
Stating that the co-actors, "Just would talk shit. It’s crazy how somebody would watch you destroy yourself.”
At the time, Thompson’s ex-wife, Christina Evangeline and the comedian were dating which in his words became his source of tough honesty and emotional support.
This took major public scrutiny as for overlapping and pursuing Evangeline while she was still married to Thompson.
However, the comic insisted he was never with Evangeline while she was married to Thompson and said “there wasn’t a plan,” adding that everything was “all cool” before things “got crazy.”
Evangeline was the only one helping him with therapy, and changed his perception about people through her life own experiences, he said. “And in that time, we fell in love.”
“I don’t feel player for this s–t at all. But I did choose love,” Redd further justified his act with.
Remarkably, He claimed that the co-stars discussed the relationship and agreed to keep it private, but things turned when “everybody found out.”
Redd joined “Saturday Night Live” as a featured player in 2017 and spent five seasons on the show before departing in 2022, ahead of its 48th season.
