Amy Schumer makes fans laugh while announcing divorce from Chris Fischer

Amy Schumer has sent shockwaves through her fans with her latest, surprising move, which has also made waves in Hollywood.

The 44-year-old actress has officially filed for divorce from husband Chris Fischer, her New York County court papers reveal.

The Trainwreck star announced last month that she and the 45-year-old chef had decided to part ways after seven years of marriage. 

For the unversed, the couple share six-year-old son, Gene.

Amy confirmed the split in her signature humorous way on Instagram, posting a photo of the former pair riding a train, set to U2’s I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For. 

She wrote, “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.” 

She added a playful note, clarifying that her dramatic weight loss and Chris being a “hot James Beard award-winning chef who can still pull some hot tail” had nothing to do with the breakup.

The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in late 2017, tied the knot in an intimate Malibu ceremony in February 2018, attended by close friends like Jennifer Aniston and Larry David. 

Later that year, Snatched actress announced she was pregnant, welcoming their son Gene on May 5, 2019. 

True to her style, she even joked about her newborn being a “royal baby” referencing Prince Archie’s arrival the day after.

Despite the split, she emphasised that the breakup is amicable. 

“All love and respect! Family forever,” she wrote, sending fans a clear message that, although marriage ends, their bond as parents remains strong.
