Owen Cooper, the Adolescence child star, marked his second historic career milestone at the 31st Critics' Choice Awards at the age of sixteen.
On Sunday, January 4, Cooper received the trophy for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Netflix’s hit limited psychological crime series.
Remarkably, Cooper became the youngest male honoree to secure a Critics' Choice Award.
During his award acceptance speech, the teen actor revealed how the past year has transformed his life.
“While this past year has been a complete whirlwind for my family and me, honestly," said the Wuthering Heights star.
Cooper further shared, "It’s changed our lives forever, and we’re forever grateful. We’ve cherished every single moment of it."
Moreover, he remarked to everyone involved in the show, “To the directors, to the producers, to the cast, the crew, you took me on an emotional journey I never imagined I could go on."
He continued, "You believed in me, you pushed me when things were hard and showed incredible patience when it took me to get there."
Cooper explained his experience during the debut, "Some of those moments were really, really tough, and I couldn’t have done it without you. Receiving this award means more to me than I can put into words.”
Earlier in September 2025, Cooper set a record to become the youngest male ever to win a Primetime Emmy for 'Outstanding Supporting Actor' for the same work.
It is pertinent to note that the four-part mini-series premiered on Netflix on March 13, 2025.
The upcoming film is the young star Wuthering Heights and is scheduled to release on February 13, 2026.
