Leigh‑Anne Pinnock is taking control of her solo career after parting ways with her record label as she prepares to release her debut solo album in early 2026.
The musician, who first emerged as a solo artist following the 2022 hiatus of girl group Little Mix, has embarked on a new independent path after leaving Warner Records earlier this year.
Pinnock initially signed with Warner for her solo work and released several singles under the label, including her 2023 debut Don’t Say Love.
However, she revealed in May that she had ended that partnership and chosen to take the reins of her music career as an independent artist, signing with Virgin Music Group for her forthcoming releases.
According to Daily Mail, her first independent single, Been a Minute, dropped in July through Virgin Music and served as a lead-in to her highly anticipated full-length record.
Moreover, sources close to the artist say Pinnock’s decision was driven by a desire for greater creative control and ownership over her work as she finalizes the project she hopes will reflect her vision more fully.
The debut album, titled My Ego Told Me To, is set for release on 20 February 2026, with an accompanying tour planned for spring 2026.
Furthermore, fans have welcomed the news of her artistic independence, viewing it as a defining moment in the singer’s transition from group success to solo artistry.
