Britney Spears rang in the Christmas cheer this year with one of her sons, 19-year-old Jayden James, enjoying some much-needed mother-son bonding time.
A source told PEOPLE that the 44-year-old pop star had a “fun time celebrating Christmas with Jayden and it’s been such a special holiday.”
Meanwhile, her elder son, Sean Preston, 20, was spotted celebrating with his aunt Jamie Lynn Spears’ family in Louisiana, according to Instagram snapshots.
Spears, who shares her two boys with ex Kevin Federline, has been gradually reconnecting with them.
Federline, who recently released his memoir You Thought You Knew, revealed in a November interview that the Toxic singer had been in touch with Jayden and Preston since the book’s publication.
“They absolutely love their mom… and I’ve always wanted for them to have a connection with their mom,” he said.
However, the songstress has made it clear she doesn’t share the same fond feelings for the memoir.
In October, she called out her ex-husband for “constantly gaslighting” her and defended her relationship with her sons, explaining how visits had been extremely limited over the years.
The Lucky singer and Jayden were seen enjoying some quality time at her Los Angeles home in November, attending church together and sharing selfies on Instagram.
Sources say the pair have been spending plenty of time together since, and that the festive season was a particularly happy one for the Gimme More singer.
One insider added, “Spending time together has made [Spears] happy.”
