Jenna Ortega shares dark inspiration behind her signature style

Jenna Ortega, who rose to fame for her role as Wednesday Addams, has lifted the lid on the dark muses behind her instantly recognisable goth look.

The 23-year-old actress has revealed that her style has been heavily inspired by Siouxsie Sioux, frontwoman of Siouxsie and the Banshees, along with German punk legend Nina Hagen.

While speaking to Grazia, the Wednesday star couldn’t hide her admiration for Siouxsie, calling her “the coolest” and praising her effortless presence.

“She’s always been quite impactful for me,” she said, adding that Nina Hagen is also a “real inspiration” behind her edgy aesthetic.

The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice actress traced her love of make-up back to childhood, recalling how she became fascinated watching her older sister get ready for parties.

Sneaking glances at lipstick, earrings and mascara before bed made her feel “feminine and grown up” as a pre-teen and that feeling stuck.

As she got older, make-up became less about playing dress-up and more about confidence. 

“It changed the way I felt about myself, the way I carried myself,” she explained.

Now a Dior ambassador, Jenna says working with the luxury fashion house is a dream come true. 

She fronts the new Rouge Dior On Stage lipstick campaign, where she’s playful, bold and unmistakably herself.

A self-confessed red-lip lover, she named shade 390 Redwood Star as her ultimate pick. 

Her Wednesday look even nodded to Siouxsie, with make-up artist Nirvana Jalavand blending classic goth eyeliner with a softer, modern twist.

Is Wednesday season 3 coming out?

The projected timeline for Wednesday Season 3 suggests a release around July 2027, with filming set to begin in February 2026 and an extended post-production schedule expected to follow.
