‘The Wire’ actor James Ransone’s shocking cause of death revealed

James Ransone, who played Ziggy Sobotka in The Wire, has suffered an unnatural death at 46, on December 19th.

The It: Chapter Two actor’s cause of death details have been released by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office, which report that the actor took his own life.

As per the report, the father-of-two’s manner of suicide was “hanging” and the place of death was listed as “shed.”

The beloved actor had been candid about being a sexual abuse survivor, drug addiction and mental health issues in the past.

In an interview in 2016, The Black Phone actor told Interview Magazine, “People think I got sober working on the ‘Generation Kill.’ I didn’t. I sobered up six or seven months before that.”

“I remember going to Africa and I was going to be there for almost a year. I was number two on the call sheet and I was like, 'I think somebody made a mistake. This is too much responsibility for me,’” James added at the time.

Notably, the actor’s wife Jamie McPhee has since added a fundraiser for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to her social media profile.
