Mariah Carey, who is known for her chart-topping hits, broke records of longevity with her music.

As the 56-year-old is known for running a trend every year, Mariah earned a major milestone in her music career in December.

It was reported that her song All I Want For Christmas Is You became “the longest running No.1 song” in the history of Billboard chart.

The Grammy winner turned to Instagram to express her gratitude as she penned down: “Humbly taking back the torch!! 20 weeks at #1… I’m so grateful.”

She shared a picture of herself holding a torch to mark the historic achievement after her 1994 track surpassed Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road and A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozey.

The title was previously held by her and Boyz II Men’s One Sweet Day for 16 consecutive weeks which was taken over by Lil Nas’s Old Town Road in 2019. His track ranked No.1 for 19 weeks.

Soon, A Bar Song was recorded to tie with the 26-year-old singer having same longevity on the chart.

In 2025, Mariah released another album Here for it All proved to be a commercial success as it “debuted on No. 7 on the Billboard 200.” 

However, fans gave a mix review to the studio record.
