Lionel Messi, who is currently in India for the (greatest of all time) GOAT tour made his fans erupt in anger after a mishap at the first event in stadium.
The famous footballer is on a four-city tour, and will also be stopping in Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi.
The tour that started on Saturday, December 13 in Kolkata at Salt Lake Stadium didn’t turned out as expected as the beginning was cast with a shadow.
The public event started with Lionel going around as he waved to his fans but with time, fans happiness turned into rage as they were not able to see the star.
Reportedly, the admirers who paid $130, which are 12,000 Indian rupees for the tickets were not satisfied with the event management.
As soon as the Argentine athlete left the ground, fans started ripping and throwing seats and things into the field as they also broke the barricades and stormed into the ground.
Some people from the audience also pointed out how the legend was slated to stay with the fans for one hour left in just 20 minutes.
For the unversed, the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also stated that the incident caused her to be “deeply disturbed and shocked” and she apologised to, “ Lionel Messi, as well as to all sports lovers and his fans.”
